- assistance to veterans.
Volunteer as much or as little as you can during business hours.
Call 801-733-7000, or visit www.utahredcross.org and click on "volunteer".
Volunteers from The Greater Salt Lake Area Chapter or The American Red Cross responded to over 100 local disasters last year, or about 2 every week, including house fires, wild fires, floods and the Wells, NV, earthquake. We shelter, feed and counsel victims of disasters, teach lifesaving skills, provide blood to 30 area hospitals; and support military members and their families. We provide emergency utility assistance and international family tracing services. The American Red Cross is a nonprofit organization, not a government funded agency, which depends entirely upon volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its humanitarian mission. Donate your time or resources to the Greater Salt Lake Chapter of the American Red Cross by calling 801-323-7000, or visit www.utahredcross.org
